On Friday, May 11th the sixth grade students in our Catholic elementary schools have been invited here to JCMS for an orientation morning with us.  We look forward to having our “future Raiders” in the building with us for that morning.

Once again our annual Academic Fair was a huge success this year on Tuesday and Wednesday April 17th and 18th.  It was well organized and the students were very proud of their projects. On Tuesday the fair was open to the public and was very well attended from 6:30 – 8:00 in the evening.  On Wednesday during the day, arrangements were made for the 6th graders from the Catholic elementary schools to visit and walk through our Science Fair.

Please remember that the Jackson Catholic Middle School is sponsoring the annual Plant and Flower Sale at Van Thorres Green House on King Road.  A percentage of your purchases from Monday, May 14th through Saturday, May 20th will go directly to the academic programs at JCMS.  You must say something to the effect that “this goes toward JCMS” when you check out for us to receive credit.  

Many of you have already registered for next year and we thank you.  It is very important that we receive the information sheets for next year so we can begin planning.  The information sheets are needed in our office so we can schedule classes for next year. If you have not yet done so, please register as soon as possible or at least call and let us know your intentions.   If you have any questions, please call our office.

Planning for the eighth grade Finale program is well underway.  Parents will receive more information later this month.

Alison Marshall has notified the office that she will not be returning next year as counselor for JCMS, she will be spending more time with her two young children.  She has done a fine job administering our testing programs, dealing with special needs and counseling our middle school students over the past few years.  She will indeed be missed by all.  We wish her well.

Next year the Intermediate Algebra class will be using the Algebra 1 book.  The current Intermediate algebra book (Basic Algebra) will be used as a classroom supplement.  At the end of the year, we would appreciate copies of this book (Basic Algebra) that are are in decent condition, donated to JCMS. Attached is information about the individualized summer program offered by TenMarks.

PowerSchool is the student information system used in Jackson Area Catholic Schools.  It allows parents easy access to important information regarding their student via the PowerSchool website.  Parents can view grades, attendance, schedules, lunch balance, daily bulletins, and more by logging in information.
